Community Support

On January 22nd, I had the fortunate opportunity to attend our very own Crab Feed.  When our staff tried to explain to me what the event is like, I thought I had an understanding of what to expect.  I realized that night how far off I was—and that’s not a bad thing!

Over 800 guests in one hall, and they were all there to support our local youth.  Can you imagine how that must make our kids feel?  Recently, when we had our Teen Center reopening ceremony, one of our teens came up to me and asked, “Are all these people really here to support us?  I had no idea there were so many!”  That really stuck with me, and I could only imagine how our kids would feel to see Chardonnay Hall at the Napa Valley Expo completely packed with everyone there because they believe in our youth.

Whether you joined us as a sponsor, purchased individual tickets, or donated items to our silent and dessert auctions, I just want to extend a personal thank-you for your support.  It is a frightening time for every facet of our economy, so it was refreshing to see something so positive come out of a local level.

Thank you as well to all those who came up and introduced yourselves to me.  Although I’ve been here six months now, I am still enjoying meeting you all.  If you haven’t done so yet, I’d love to hear from you.
